An officer in the French army present during the wars of the French Revolution was born on May 10, 1760 in the town of Lyons-le-Saunier in France. He was known for writing the words and melodies of the French national anthem in the year 1792 by La Marseille, which is still the French national anthem today, and he died on June 26, 1836.
